I’m an A.D.D. sponge in that I soak up anything and everything new (and sometimes shiny). I have a passion for reading, learning, civil rights/liberties, and laughing. I’m especially good at laughing.

I chain-smoke, am a Starbucks whore, have an abundance of sarcasm in supply, and far too much time on my hands.

This blog is about the struggles of being a “square peg” trying to fit into the “round hole” of society. I don’t fit in to the office, 9 to 5, board meetings, professional dress, climbing the corporate ladder kind of lifestyle that society says I should. The caveat to that is that I don’t have an answer as to where I actually do belong or fit in. I do know this, however, and that is I am not alone. With so many people on this planet I know there are other “pegs” that are squared and unable to fit into round holes either. I’m going to talk about my experiences being a thirty-something A.D.D.er, job-hunting as a peg squared, and other things that pop into my head. Hopefully this will appeal to other pegs squared and we can come together as a community, sharing ideas, tips and strategies for coping with the round holes.

In my mind this will be like Cheers – where you can go where everyone’ll know your username, the Golden Girls – because sometimes you’re grateful that you’re only friends with these people online (I kid.), and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon – because pegs squared are WAY more hilarious than those round things. Doesn’t this sound like fun?!

Humor me.
